I was hoping to be more precise in identifying the species but wikipedia informs there are more than 2500 species of cicada!

I have been enjoying shooting moths that are attracted to our white mosquito net recently and this fellow, found on our wool bed sheet last night, was quite a treat.

The noise the cicadas near our house in Namasia every dusk can be very loud, and it is a sound I have come to love. The tymbals, the apparatus that makes the noise, are apparently located under the wings. I’d love to see them, but don’t think he would have enjoyed me pulling his wings back.
