I wrote about Steven Crook’s new Taiwan Travel App from Gecko on my old blog but I didn’t mention that I contributed a lot of the photos, including the cover, for the app.Nezha San Tai Tz, The Third Prince The above photo was chosen, I think it is a fine photo, but certainly not stunning. The difficult thing  about the brief was the app icon had to look good at very small sizes, like 50×50 pixels, so things on the photo had to be big and easy to recognize. Here is my actual submission, I cropped all the photos to square and made them small to see how they would look. Cover SubmissionPhoto editors always choose the photos I would never have chosen (what do they know? ; ) ) so I always try to give a broad selection. I think I would have chosen the third row, fifth column, but the thing is I know my own photos, so I know what everything is. I’d love to hear which one you would have chosen. Techno SantaitzAs the title suggests, the app focuses on cultural attractions; temples, museums, architecture and the like. At $2.99 you can’t go wrong — buy it just to learn about Taiwan whether you live here, want to travel here or just want to learn about Taiwan’s art, culture and history from one of Taiwan’s most established and respected travel writers.
