Tainan May Jam 2013
Tainan May Jam was founded by artist musician Axel Schunn in 2000 and continues to grow every year. May Jam still adheres to its simple tenets of creativity, musicianship and the love for music and is an important music festival in Taiwan for independent bands; as Axel says, “It’s all for music !”
This year’s three day event was held at Hutoupi Scenic Area in Tainan’s Sinhua District. For more information see MayJam.com or the Tainan 2013 May Jam Facebook Page.
The May Jam is a great place for families, there were jugglers, fire dancers, a tight rope set up and lots of room for kids to run around.

There were not many people around early on Saturday, but for those that braved the heat there were some good bands, food and drink.
Seeking shade from the high noon in the hot Tainan sun.
The light was just getting good and it was cooling down enough for the crowds to start arriving when my son was stung in the arm and leg by something — possibly a hornet — so we made a quick exit because he has had allergic reactions to stings.
Tainan May Jam was in June this year. Rich Matheson took some great photos of the event. http://t.co/gQRzojq7jE
