I remember attending one of these festivals a few years ago. It was quite spectacular. I also remember there were a few falls and one performer was taken away in an ambulance.
Yeah, definitely spectacular David. There were lots of falls in the preliminaries — the second to last photo is a team falling. One guy seemed to be hurt pretty badly and they fell quite a few times after, but they finished their routine to a good round of applause. The good teams make it look easy but it obviously isn’t.
Rich do you know if tickets are available online or some other venue besides at the door? Don’t want to risk going all the way to Kaohsiung and missing out.
Sorry Robert, I’ve been on the road with spotty internet access. Yes, it is a good idea to get tickets beforehand. Last year tickets sold out and I had to wrangle a media entry, which got me much better access. Ticket info is here: http://www.kham.com.tw,07-7809900 and tickets are sold at all 7-11’s and Family Marts. Hope you made it down.
Thanks, Rich. No I didn’t make it down. Tickets were already sold out when we looked. Next year though I will try your method and see if I can get a media pass.
